Ivermectin Tablet 12 mg

Ivermectin is BCS (Biopharmaceutical classification system) class-II drug, which has high permeability and low water solubility (0.005mg/ml) which is responsible for its poor dissolution rate and ultimately leads to variable and low absorption which is pre-requisite for the pharmacodynamic effect.

BDA Healthcare manufactures the tablet by solid dispersion technology which is used to improve the solubility across physiological pH.

During development we studied dissolution of ivermectin tablet 12 mg at the different pH 1.2, 4.5 and 6.8 pH. Result show that dissolution was around 98 % in all three media which represent the solubility of drug across the entire length of the Gastro-intestinal tract. Thus drug absorb completely in GIT tract.

There is no food effect on the absorption of drug as manufactured by solid dispersion technology.
